Excursions

If you want to learn Spanish it is not the only way to do it in Spanish lessons in the language school in Costa Rica , it is also possible to improve your skills on one of our exciting excursions. During an excursion you get to know new friends from all over the world, so you can communicate with them, which will help you in your Spanish-learning process. You can learn more about Costa Rica and San José on movie nights, museum visits, and other excursions. In addition we undertake interesting excursions to places around the city, for example to the national park of Tortuguero or to the Poas and Arenal Volcanoes.

Volcano Arenal

One weekend excursion during your language course in San José takes you to the Arenal Volcano, which has been active for 10 years. The volcano offers a great sight at night:

From a close but safe distance you can see the glowing red lava and sometimes also small eruptions. You will never forget this breathtaking natural spectacle and you will keep this moment as a highlight of your language trip to Costa Rica . In the evening we complete the excursion with a visit to nearby thermal springs. On the next morning we will visit the lagoon of Arenal, and in the afternoon we return to Santo Domingo de Heredia.

Tortuguero

On another weekend we visit the national park of Tortuguero . This unique national park lies in the north of Costa Rica directly on the Caribbean coast. From Heredia you will go by bus through the national park Braulio Carillo, on the 2 hour boat tour to Tortuguero you can marvel at monkeys, turtles, caimans, toucans, parrots and many other animals.

In the months September and October, during you language trip in the Spanish school in San José , you can watch giant turtles laying their eggs. The next day we will venture on a canoe tour to see the unique fauna. The return to the Spanish language school in San José will be in the following afternoon.

Poas Volcano & La Paz Waterfall

We set out very early in the morning from Santo Domingo de Heredia towards Alajuela. After a march of 300 metres you can marvel at the 1300 meter wide caldera and the numerous geysers. Afterwards we visit a lagoon in the vicinity. On the return to the language school in San José we stop at the picturesque waterfall La Paz .

Rafting

Our Rafting Tour will be a breathtaking day on your language trip in Costa Rica . From Santo Domingo de Heredia we drive towards the Caribbean coast and turn towards the Rio Pacuare at the national park Braulio Carillo. The Rio Pacuare is famous for its cataracts, with a stream-difference of 3 or 4. After two and a half hour on the water we serve the lunch with a lot of fresh fruit and tacos. Afterwards we ride back by boat for two hours. In the evening we return to the language school in San José

Canopying

After the Spanish language course we set off in the afternoon from Santo Domingo . Canopying is a sport where you play "Cliff hanger", moving on a special rope with a small vehicle through the rainforest of Costa Rica . You can watch numerous monkeys and birds while enjoying adrenaline rushes from the high speed and height.

Aerial Tram

At first we take a hiking tour through the national park of Braulio Carillo , where you can learn a lot about the local flora and fauna of the park.
